The Duisdoorne blanket originates from the "Stossen" collection, which is a modern take on the traditional Dutch folklore textile. The throw itself is based on a family picture showing my great-grandfather with a boyish grin. Imagine this hard-working guy, after an adventurous day coming home, grabbing a blanket to cuddle under with his love and to rest for yet another day full of inspiration, ideas and good laughter. The detail on his traditional Dutch socks is the pattern used for the Duisdoorne blanket, and so is the colour of inspiration to make it an authentic Dutch design.

Concept

The inspiration for the design of the blanket was the traditional Dutch pattern on the socks of my great grandfather. Adjusting the crosses to overlap and multiply over the length of the fabric, created a playful design. When folded or just thrown off this pattern gradient gives the illusion that there are multiple patterns used.
